ANXIETY

Periods of restlessness and tension can be indicators of underlying anxiety, as well as inconsistant sleep patterns and problematic issues with focus. Having trouble falling or staying asleep? Periods of having difficulty concentrating? These can be just a few symptoms which may be signs of  anxiety. Reshaping our perspective on how we percieve possible future events can lessen the tension and stress of intense anxiety.

DEPRESSION

The heavy weight of depressive symptoms can have an eroding impact on relationships, slow the attaiment of our personal goals, and evaporate our passion for living a life we want. Discovering the ability to bring oneself into the present moment of our daily lives can lift the emotional load, help us refocus, and heighten a reinvigorating sense of passion for our lives again.

TRAUMA

Trauma can not only occur in multiple forms, it can happen to an individual at any time in one's life and it can manifest in different forms. Truama can play a role in Attention Deficit Disorder, Addictions, or other mental or emotional struggles. Our relationship with trauma, and it's manifestation in our lives, can assist in navigating and managing it's impact on our daily functioning.

About my journey

Raised in the north woods of Minnesota, I was gifted with an immersion into the spiritual power of human connectivity to our natural world. The blessing of this education imbued a vital perspective on how our emotional and psychological health can be a function of our attunement to the frequency and vibration of the earth surrounding us. I also spent a long period of my life in the city of Chicago developing a deep appreciation for the cultural dynamics of human interaction, and through academic education and personal growth, I have placed my focus on combining the cultural dynamics of our society with a mindfulness of the energy and spirit of the earth which surrounds us.

Throughout my life I have experienced that which we all experience, loss, grief, trauma, frustration, joy, trust, and most critically, gratitude. I approach our connections with a  conversational yet professional style, a relaxed, casual interaction intent on facilitating an environment of trust with the understanding that we journey together. I believe that from the path of my ever-evolving journey, I may offer an individual different perspectives, ultimately empowering the client to engage their own innate personal therapeutic skills for inner peace.

I returned to school at age 45, after having enjoyed my fingers in the soil as a landscape contractor for 2 decades, and left Metropolitan University of Denver with an undergraduate degree in Human Services. I completed my graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling at Regis University in December 2021, and am fortunate to be entering the doctoral program in Counseling Education and Supervision at Saybrook University upon the start of the new year. I have experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, and Solution-Focused Therapy, but I am most rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Ultimately, our goal is to collaboratively form a value-based compass to assist in the navigation of your personal life journey. I am grateful to be part of your success.
